Leatherbound is now free

I've decided to make Leatherbound free for everyone. Going forward, there are no limits, no subscriptions and nothing to unlock.

Why

I started charging for Leatherbound in 2023, when the app moved to a sync service that cost me money every month. The more people used it, the more it cost, and the subscription covered that.

That's no longer true. Leatherbound now syncs through iCloud, so your library lives in your own account. The app now costs me almost nothing to keep running, and that won't change as more people use it. The reason to charge has gone, so the charge is going too.

What's changing

• Everything that previously needed a subscription is now included for free.
• If you're currently subscribed, it won't renew. You don't need to cancel or do anything else.
• If you renewed recently and would like your money back, you can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

What's not changing

Everything else.

I'm still building Leatherbound, and I still use it every day. Just recently, I added initial support for iPhone Duo, with layouts for both the outer and inner displays, and more updates are on the way.
